product care.
ceramic care.
Our ceramics are made by hand, and are fired at very high temperatures to produce ‘stoneware’ which is long lasting, and suitable for everyday use.
Although most are dishwasher safe (see individual product descriptions) we recommend that you wash your ceramics carefully by hand to prolong their lifespan.
You should also avoid placing your ceramics in extreme temperatures like the oven or freezer, as this may cause them to crack or become fragile.
Blanc ceramics recommends.
All items are designed to be both dishwasher and microwave safe, unless otherwise noted in the product details. If you wish to preserve the quality and appearance of the piece for a longer duration, it is strongly recommended to hand wash all items using mild soap and water, accompanied by a soft, non-steel sponge. Additionally, you should avoid leaving any liquids that have the potential to stain the glaze for extended periods of time. Furthermore, please note that these pieces cannot be safely used for cooking in the oven, unless the specific piece clearly indicates that it is oven-safe.
clothing care.
As a consumer you can reduce your impact significantly* by taking care of your clothes. We recommend that to save water, reduce detergent usage, reduce energy consumption and to extend the life of this garment that you wash it as infrequently as is practical.
*wearing your clothes for 9 months longer can reduce carbon, water and waste footprints by 20-30% each.

Due to the specific nature of pigment dye used in the production process, it is important to note that some loose pigments may remain settled on the surface of the garments. Therefore, it is advisable not to spot clean these items, as this could potentially affect their appearance and quality. When washing these garments, ensure that you do so only with like colours to maintain their vibrancy, and always use cold water to prevent any damage. For drying, you have the option to either hang dry the garments or tumble dry them on a low heat setting to preserve their integrity.
Mars knitwear recommends.
It is strongly recommended to cool hand wash the item to ensure its longevity and integrity over time. Please refrain from using a tumble dryer, as this can cause significant damage to the delicate fabric. When ironing, always use a low temperature setting to avoid any potential harm to the material. Additionally, it is best to wash dark colours separately to prevent any risk of color bleeding onto lighter fabrics. For drying, lay the item flat and reshape it while it is still damp to maintain its original form and appearance.
candle care.
When burning a jar candle for the first time try to allow the wax to melt all the way to the edge of the jar. This will ensure an even burn throughout the candle and will avoid what is known as tunnelling, where only part of the wax melts, creating a shorter burn life. If you take the time to do this, you will get the maximum burn time from your candle.
Before each burn, remove debris that may have collected in the wax pool around the wick, and trim your wick to ¼ of an inch. This will ensure that your candle burns evenly, controlling the size of the flame, which will prevent any dark smoke and allow you to get the most time out of your candle. You can use a wick trimmer, or simply just pinch it off with your fingers.
You should only burn your candle for up to 4 hours at a time. When the candle wax is down to 1/2 inch we recommend that you discontinue use. You can easily scrape out the left over layer of wax, and clean the jar ready to reuse or repurpose.

When burning your scented candle for the first time allow the wax to melt all the way to the edge of the jar. This will ensure an even burn throughout the candle and will avoid what is known as tunnelling, where only part of the wax melts, creating a shorter burn life. Soy wax has a lower melting point than other waxes, thats why they throw the scent so well and last longer than others.
Before each burn it is essential to ensure you have removed any unnecessary wick, trimming the wick to approximately 1/4 inch. This is really easy and can be done simply by pinching the burnt wick away with your fingers, before it is lit of course. This will also ensure the candle doesn't give off any nasty black smoke.
When lighting the candle make sure that no wick trimmings or used matches are in the wax, always burn your candle on an even and fire resistant surface and ensure that it is away from flammable items.
Never burn the candle for longer than 4 hours at a time and when extinguishing the glass will be hot so please be careful.
When the candle wax is down to 1/2 inch please discontinue use, you can reuse the vessel as a plant holder or desk organiser should you so wish.
Always burn your candle within sight, away from drafts and never leave it unattended. Please keep it out of reach of children and pets.
