About — Grenson

Grenson is a storied British footwear brand with deep roots in traditional shoemaking, tracing its origins back to 1866 when William Green began crafting shoes in Northamptonshire. One of England’s historic centres for quality leather footwear.

Renowned for marrying heritage techniques with modern design sensibilities, Grenson became one of the first firms to adopt Goodyear welt construction, which not only enhances durability but also allows shoes to be resoled and enjoyed for many years. Classic silhouettes like brogues, oxfords, loafers and boots sit alongside contemporary takes featuring distinctive proportions and innovative detailing, appealing to both traditional and fashion-minded wearers.

While the brand’s premium lines are still made in its Northamptonshire factory using time-honoured craft methods, some collections are produced overseas. Grenson’s commitment to quality materials, often sourced from top European tanneries and careful finishing helps the shoes age beautifully with wear, making them prized pieces in a well-curated wardrobe.
